Talk show host and political comedian Samantha Bee is fed up with people wondering if President Donald Trump is a racist.
On Wednesday she played multiple clips of Trump voicing bigoted opinions on Muslims, Mexicans, Native Americans, and Blacks.
Despite damning footage of Trump being racist that went back to the 1990s, the host of “Full Frontal” maintained that she could prove her case by sticking to Trump’s White House utterances.
“Exhibit A,” she said. “Everything Trump has said since he took office.”
Bee marveled at the fact that a great deal of voters still debate whether or not Trump is racist.
In her estimation Trump has said “so many racist things, it’s impossible to remember them all.” She joked about the obviousness of it. “It’s today’s Watergate ― if Nixon had repeatedly stuck his head out the window and screamed ‘I did Watergate,’” she said.
Frustration over Trump’s recent comments regarding Haiti and other African nations has prompted journalists, politicians, and media folks alike to say enough is enough.
Bee basically scolded Americans for their denial and told her audience to “stop acting shocked” by Trump’s vulgar description of some African nations as “shithole countries.”
The former “Daily Show” correspondent pleaded with Americans to just accept Trump’s racism and “start grappling with what it means.”
“Donald Trump hates black and brown people and he’s in charge of a lot of their lives. Let’s try to hold it in our heads for good this time,” she said.
Bee is, of course, not the only comedian to point out Trump’s racism.
Following reports of the president’s remarks, Jimmy Kimmel relayed the information to his “Live!” audience, saying, “Before I share what specifically he said, I would like you to keep in mind that this is an actual quote from the actual President of the United States,” he said. “It really is unfathomable. You just can’t believe that this is the guy running our country.”
